Floating

plastic bottles, monofilament dimension variable I grew up in a small town in the countryside of Japan. My work resembles the following childhood memory that I have: “On the surface of a pool, flowers are floating with peaceful spiral movements, and the shadow of the flowers is being cast on the riverbed.” I hope our descendants also can see the same scenery in nature for several hundreds or thousands of years. With our wisdom and strong will, I believe it is possible. More than that, we have an obligation to preserve such nature in this form for the coming generations. 2010
