Crochet Doily on a Glass Shelf and Cast Shadow

crochet lace, shelf, mirror 6’ x 2’ x 1.5’ (dimension of the doily: 20“ x 13”) This work was created with a very traditional and authentic technique to make a doily. In front of this piece, the viewer looks at his/her face first in the mirror that is mounted on the wall, then explore what the doily placed on the shelf just under the mirror says. The text might make people scared, but I made this work as a reminder and to encourage people to fulfill their lives. 2007
