Play to Pray
acrylic paint on piano 52” X 58” X 24” The earthquake and Tsunami happened in Japan on March 11th 2011, and in their aftermath, the radiation leak. This piano was made to encourage people who were affected by the disaster and give hope, as well as to pray for the people who lost their lives. The piano was placed outside of the Landmark Center, DT St. Paul for two months so that anybody can play it. I invited a choir group to hold a concert to sing Japanese songs in front of this piano to remember the people who were affected by the disaster. The upper front board is like cut-out lace therefore when the piano is played you can see the movement of the hammers. 2011
